Swan 431 Description
Festive Mood is a Swan 431 is a S&S design built in 1976 with an aft cabin with a double and single berth, two pilot berths and two settee berths in the salon, two pipe berths in the for'castle. One head on the starboard side forward. Galley with 3 burner LPG stove and double sink on the port side.
The aft cabin provides privacy and comfort for cruising or it can be open for communication with the rest of the boat when racing. The main cabin can be in the cruising mode with comfortable seating for entertaining guests or pipe berths set up to put the most weight where you want it in the race.
Festive Mood is a great example of the well built Swan Racer/Cruiser designed by Sparkman Stevens to do the racing circuit during the day and sleep comfortably on at night.

Brochure
Every so often, a new yacht appears on the sailing scene that just breathes success. A glance at the lines and the rig, the deck, and the interior and the size creates that gut feeling that says simply: "She'll do well." Nautor's unique associationwith Sparkman & Stephens has produced many such designs in the last ten years, the Swan 36,65, 44, 38 to name a few. Now the second generation Swan 431 stands fair to join that distinguished fleet.
From the standpoint of size, the Swan 431 is today the optimum "go anywhere" sailboat, neither too large to create crewing problems nor too small to suffer from the "sardine can syndrome". This factor does much to make her the perfect investment.
An underlying explanation for the demand for Swans is the time-tested quality of Nautor's workmanship. Though it has always had the blessing of Lloyd's - and on certain occasions of distinguished boat show committees at London and Genoa - nothing proves a Swan's durability better than use and experience. (Remember how Sayula came through her survey as good as new after cramming into seven months more miles thanmany yachts do in a lifetime?
It behoves us to say something of the 431's equipment. The deck equipment is either Nautor-produced or the very best available. The deck arrangement bears the stamp of the vast and fastidious experience of Rod Stephens Jr.
Below deck, the private cabin aft has a double berth and a single berth. The main salon has a pilot berth and two large settees. The cook and the navigator are well catered for with all the "mod.cons." of the best equipped contemporary cruiser - racer.
